Dance Place in Northeast Washington will present Pearsonwidrig DanceTheatre on Saturday & Sunday, September 17 & 18. The company, which is named for its directors Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig, was founded in 1987 and has toured throughout the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. They will present the world premiere of Sayonara, Dear, which was inspired by the final love affair of Ms. Pearson’s 86-year-old mother. The program will include Drama, presented with opera singer Madeline Miskie and Watkins Glen. Drama is a work in progress with Japanese/Peruvian composer Pauchi Sasaki.
Dance Place will present VTDance/Vincent E. Thomas in a new solo dance titled iWitness on Saturday & Sunday, September 24 & 25. In addition, I Pledge “explores simple truths in human behaviors and implied truths in human documents. Render & Proceed investigates the convolution of media and its impact on the human spirit. Come Change considers the past and present for a hopeful tomorrow.” The evening will also include Homo Will Not Inherit, which is a collaboration with Iron Crow Theatre.
