about
The Agenda News ©

From time to time, readers ask for more information about our publication.
We've listed a few of the Questions and Answers below and hope they will be useful.

Q:   I'd like to advertise in your publication.  How should I proceed?
A:   The publication is privately-funded and is a gift to residents and workers in Chevy Chase and the surrounding community.

Q:  Do you plan to accept ads in the future?
A:  There are no plans to accept ads.

Q:  Are you supported by or associated with any government or private institutions?
A:  No, our publication is completely independent.

Q:   Do you accept money for the articles which you publish?
A:   No.

Q:   Can you be contacted by Email?  I don't see any contact information.
A:   The publication is essentially by free subscription, and our subscribers have the publisher's Email address.  Others are welcome to write to the PO address provided on the top of the Home Page.

Q:  What is the greatest challenge to a publication such as yours?
A:  If we write about something, readers sometimes take it  as an endorsement, which it is not!  We often write about events and programs in which we have no interest.  It's up to readers to decide if the programs please them.
For example, we've even been blamed if readers don't like a particular restaurant or show about which we've written.  We can only repeat the age-old expression "Please don't shoot the messenger!"

Q:  I can't print your publication.
A:  It's formatted to be read online.

Q:  How can I find something in particular on a page?  For example, how can I find exhibitions at a particular gallery on the Arts page?
A:   Most readers "find" articles on a page using the Edit option at the top of their screens.

Q:   Why do you report on some events and not others?
A.   The Washington area is so large and there are so many interesting venues and programs that we have to pick and choose each month.

Q:  Why do you often repeat information in your “News”  and “Shopping” Columns?
A:  There is great interest in some matters, and many readers like to be informed of the status of some projects even if there is no significant change.

Q: Why does it take a long time for me to access your site?
A:  The site is designed mainly for readers who have high-speed internet connections - Broadband.  Even though you may not be able to view the illustrations we provide, you will likely be able to read the accompanying text.

Q:  Why do you focus so much on matters of interest to Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Potomac, Alexandria and Washington?
A:   The majority of our readers live or work in those areas.

Q:  I've heard that you're young, old, Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, black, white, Latino - among other things.  What do you say?
A.  Good!  We want to offer something for everyone.
