RADIO:  

    Classical WETA 90.09 FM Radio is again presenting the National Symphony Orchestra Showcase on the first Wednesday of each month at 9 p.m.  - featuring the orchestra in performance at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.  The concerts were recorded by Classical WETA, and announcer Nicole Lacroix will host the broadcasts. The series will continue through June.   

             Classical WETA 90.9 FM’s weekly local concert broadcast Front Row Washington on Mondays at 9 p.m. offers a diverse selection of programs.  The next concert will be broadcast on:

February 27:  The inaugural performance of The Phillips Camerata.   

    Metropolitan Opera broadcasts will continue on Classical WETA Opera House on Saturday afternoons on Classical WETA 90.9 FM: 

February 25: Verdi’s Ernani with Angela Meade — at 1 p.m.

      VivaLaVoce broadcasts at www.vivalavoce.org and via the HD2 signal of Classical WETA 90.9 FM.  The channel offers choral music, opera and art song.  The programs are hosted by Classical WETA announcers David Ginder, Marilyn Cooley, John Chester, Nicole Lacroix and Deb Lamberton. 
   Among its special features, VivaLaVoce includes Opera at 8, a full-length opera broadcast daily at 8 p.m. There is also special theme-month programming and a Vocal CD Pick of the Week drawn from recent classical vocal releases.

    In Performance at the White House:  Red, White and Blues will air on WETA on Monday, February 27 at 9 p.m.  The special concert, which WETA co-produced, is co-hosted by President and Mrs. Obama in the White House East Room.  Top musical artists pay homage to pioneering Blues musicians and the songs for which they are best known.
